The Importance to Belonging to an Art Group

There are many reasons to join an Art Group!   I am sure you have your own ideas to its benefits.   Here are a few reasons I have benefited from being a member of Roswell Fine Arts Alliance (RFAA). 

First, you make great friends.  Of course, you learn a lot from various people with a vast number of years of experiences.  Some are great watercolor painters, others prefer acrylics in a plein air environment, some teach, others can critique with kindness.    What ever you medium and art preference we all share the same love for art.  We can talk about art features and terminology, color theory, or three-point perspective and then share a recipe for a great hors d’oeuvres while showing our art at our venue receptions at our little gallery or around town. 

We paint together.  We work together.  We show our art together.,  We get opportunities for commission work.  Belonging has its benefits.  However, we are as strong as the amount of work we put into the organization by volunteering.   This too have its benefits, we learn new tools, and the rewards of working together for a mutual goal could even be more fun than a pay check.  This year I am serving as its president, but so many are helping to meet our organization’s goals.  We are as strong as the whole. 

RFAA has much to offer.   We have many shows during the year, including city festivals, which gives its members a place to show our art.  We paint together at the gallery or in a plein air setting.   We have workshops, a reference art library, and our members love to help others improve their art.  Check out our Facebook page at rfaa.org and come join RFAA.
